We were already seeing this huge increase in autopsies, due to the drug overdoses and everything…we were pretty much autopsying everybody, and it was getting very expensive to verify what we already knew….I went to the International Coroners and Medical Examiners Conference, which is where I met you guys! We had a lovely conversation and I immediately went back to the county board and asked to re-tool my plan, because it was actually financially much more affordable for us and it was actually better….Having something be good enough to diagnose me when I am alive, should be good enough to diagnose me when I am dead. – Patty Schachtner (CME St. Croix County)
